With all the flooding we saw in the Cumbrian region, the warm December and the current sudden cold snap, we thought we'd lsit some of the weather related records that have been broken in the last month...

December 2015

New 24-hour rainfall record for UK (341.4mm, Honister Pass)

New 48-hour rainfall record for UK (405.0mm, Thirlmere)

Wettest calendar month on record for UK (191 per cent of December average)

Largest ever flows recorded on English rivers (around 1700 cubic metres per second in Eden, Lune and Tyne)

Highest peak flows on record for many Northern rivers

New maximum daily outflow from the UK, a third larger than previous maximum

Warmest December (4.1°C above average)
